A lot of things have changed for me in the past week. I’m at my new placement for a full week now, and a routine is starting to break out of its shell and unfold before me… I’m on a farm/winery operation in Wintersheim, (a.k.a middle of nowhere Germany… well it’s not that far from Mainz nor Frankfurt). Anyhow, as far as works goes I’ve been either working in the bottle room washing, labeling or packing bottles… or in the vineyards.
The first day I was here, my host mother had a baby boy, Daniel. They came home saturday, but she has been sick with a fever since, and I haven’t seen much of her. My host father also had a fever, and some resulting back problems, and in all it has made the first week, well, interesting.
I’m taking another german course, and my teacher is quite interesting. He’s a small pudgy guy, who likes to assert his knowledge of, well, everything. We had an argument over how many states the US has, he kept insisting it has 53. Ahh well, he’s fun.
Oh, and my internet access is a bit limited compared to what it has been. So don’t expect to see me on AIM or ICQ anytime soon. Posts will also be scattered. Anyhow, if you’re in southern germany anytime soon, give me a shout. peace.
