thought I’d conglomerate some random thoughts into a post, even if only for my own good. Andi pointed me in the direction of Democracy Now! this evening, and I’ve become somewhat enthralled. Yay for new alternative media sources. Apparently Noam Chomsky speaks quite a bit throughout the site, and I’ve really grown to appreciate what I’ve heard of Arundhati Roy. Oh yeah, and apparently my sister has met Os Guiness on multiple occasions, only to tell me this earlier today.
This weekend I’m doing a stint with backpacking class. Lester Zook and 5 of my male classmates will be packing somewhere in the central district of the SNP. Hopefully this will kick off a plethora of backpacking this season before I head overwaters with Intermenno. Then… Easter weekend, Meghan Kemp, Sarah Bernier, Amanda Gross and I are making the trip to good old K-W, Ontario. I’m pumped… Finally my two worlds collide. And then the weekend after that… my family’s taking a trip to Hagerstown, Maryland to see my Brother-in-law play baseball. He’s currently with the Toronto Blue Jays organization, and it looks like he’ll be playing for the Single A Charleston (WV) Alley Cats. Sweet, it’s about time I get to see more than one or two of his games.
So that’s my adventuresome planning. I did this post mostly so I wouldn’t forget any of it, peace

I felt the beginnings of my yearly spring sinus infection come about monday evening. ironic how I take pride in not getting sick all fall and winter, but then on the most beautiful day of the year I was forced to sleep 12 hours and lay in bed another 2, only to get up so I could study and take a test. now’s the sinus headache phase, and hopefully it should peeter out by tomorrow. I should be riding all over Rockingham county… oh well, the roads are probably overcrowded with good-weather riders that don’t realize winter really isn’t that bad to ride in. alright, one more good hour of studying… test, and then back to bed… don’t come near me, eh

well, the weekend was spent at goshen college. it was good to see old friends from high school. one of my original reasons was so I could say I had been there, but that’s really not a good enough reason. while the music center is cool, the town is downright awful. flat, windy, boring… hmm… at least some of the people there were worth the time.
when we arrived in Indiana I filled up my car, after traversing 523.2 miles on that tank, pumping 10.7 gallons into my diesel jetta. yes, that’s right… that means I got 48.9 miles to the gallon. I can continue to brag on my 49 MPG monster… I need to take an all downhill trip sometime and see if I can break 50… that would be cool. one thing to note is I filled up after only using 10.7 gallons. I really need to figure out the bottom of my tank, as it holds 14.5 gallons, meaning I could get upwards of 700 miles in one tank… ooo… anyhow… time to go to bed, my mind still has the illusion that my body is vibrating from the car ride… bed bed bed.

The weekend was relatively bountiful. I ran into Scott Christopher Murray at the Little Grill and ended up buying one of his albums off of iTunes. Alright, there’s my plug.
Saturday I rode about 20 miles, but ended up breaking a spoke with a little under 2 miles left to my dorm. Apparently breaking a spoke is extremely rare, and I kind of figured after carrying my bike the 2 miles. Peace,

Wow, the letter came today… I made it into Intermenno placed in Germany/Switzerland. This is quite a relief, and next year is starting to take shape. There are also quite a few names I recognize that were accepted, and a few Canadian names that look semi-familiar as well. Alright, time for a bike ride, eh?
