February 2004

So spring break is two classes away. I could skip today’s class, but I basically have to be at tomorrow’s… so why skip today’s, eh? Anyhow… I’m being somewhat individualistic for spring break. I’ll probably be around through tuesday or so, working hardcore trying to finish up (finally) a new webpage for work. Then wednesday afternoon, I’m off north. Plan is to spend most of the week with my canadian homies, and distract them from studying as much as humanly possible.

If it’s not too windy, hopefully today I can get in 25 miles or so. I’m craving more riding over break, and apparently I may have suitable weather. off to work…

Wow. Just thought I’d give another plug for mindless online gaming. Orisinal.com has some games second to none. They’re beautiful, soothing, and addicting. Oh, and free. Check it out

Lancaster, PA made the National News. All you Lancasterians should be proud.

So… yes I have a confession to make. I have a growing addiction… and it’s actually Ben Stutzman to blame. It being winter, bike shops are off-season, and are dying to get rid of last year’s models before spring. Beautifully, you can get a bike at a killer price. I did just that. My Baby. Wow. Bicycling is definitely my fitness niche. Today I went for an hour ride, and loved every bit of it. There’s something inspiring about going 37 mph on something as insignificant as a bicycle, and having people stare at you like you’re crazy for riding a bicycle on 42 in 38 degree weather (so maybe there’s some truth there….). Did I mention, all for less than an iPod.

Okay, time for a major life update. You may wonder why I’ve recently put too much time into something as silly as a weblog. Well, I applied to Intermenno back in January. The long short of it is living with and helping to support a Mennonite family in either the Netherlands, Germany or Switzerland. With Intermenno in the horizon, I’ve also decided to pursue Highland Retreat for the summer. I figure it’s time to give back to the Father for His faithfulness in meeting me there as a summer camper a long time ago.

So, with all this in mind, I figured it would be nice to have an easy way to keep family and friends up to date on my life. (That and I needed an excuse to code) See, there is a practical purpose to it, after all. As of this post, the site should be fully functional. Hopefully the gallery will expand, I have a trunk load of slides I need to scan (mine and my father’s), and maybe someday that will become reality. I also need an excuse to photograph more, and develop my liking for the art. Anyhow, check it… I’m out
